“Russian Culture Festival 2006 in Japan” in progress
 As part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the restoration of political relations between Japan and Russia, a “Russian Culture Festival 2006 in Japan” is now being held. During the year, a wide variety of programs are being held to enable audiences to enjoy masterpieces of the Russian arts in the areas of literature, theater, film, art, ballet and music. This year-long project follows the “Japanese Arts Festival 2003 in Russia” and the jointly organized celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Japan-Russia Friendship Treaty in 2005. The main programs involved in this year’s festival are as below:
