 | Festival/Tokyo 09 (F/T 09) Autumn lineup announced |
| | The main contents have been announced as below for the Autumn program of the Festival/Tokyo 09, which is being held twice this year in Spring and Autumn schedules. Works from Japan include the latest production by the Ishinha company, which has continued to lead the avant-garde theater scene with its outdoor productions. This major highlight of the schedule will be performed at the Nishi-sugamo Arts Factory. Another production attracting attention is a new work by Norimizu Ameya, the contemporary art performer who mounted a production for F/T Spring with a cast of real amateur high school girls. For his F/T 09 Autumn production, Ameya will present a posthumous work by the late Sarah Kane. Also, contemporary dance artist Ikuyo Kuroda revives her shocking work titled Hana wa Nagarete, Toki wa Katamaru (Flowers Flow, Time Coagulates) in which she has dancers jump down from a height of 3 meters. Among the invited foreign artists, Rimini Protokoll and Societas Raffaello Sanzio will return after appearances in F/T 09 Spring. Rimini Protokoll will do a Tokyo version of their Cargo series (carrying audience in a modified transport cargo truck to see the world of the long-distance truck driver). Societas Raffaello Sanzio will give consecutive performances of the grand-scale trilogy La Divina Commedia – Inferno / Purgatorio / Paradiso based on Dante’s The Divine Comedy. For details of other program items see the F/T website.
