Festival Outline
The International Exposure dance festival has been held in Tel Aviv, Israel every year in December since 1995. The festival is organized by the Suzanne Dellal Centre with support from the Tel Aviv Yaffo Municipality, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Sports. It presents works of the best Israeli contemporary dance companies in a festival format similar to an arts market for the benefit of presenters from many countries. The festival director is the director of the Suzanne Dellal Centre, Mr.
Yair Vardi (→
“Presenter Interview”).
The Suzanne Dellal Centre was founded in 1989 as a dance production center, an educational institution and theater. Besides International Exposure, the Center also runs numerous projects including a mentor program named Shades of Dance that pairs young artists with professional artistic directors as mentors, a “Curtains Up” festival that offers support for the creation of works by young choreographers and a “Summer Dance” festival that runs for two months I the summer. The Center also serves as the base for the Batsheva Dance Company, the Orna Porat Theater for Children and Youth, and the Inbal Dance Company.
